Hair of the Dog - 2/23/10

Write about an unforeseen delay. Someone can be stuck in traffic, or waiting for a package, or due to give birth but the baby is disinclined to vacate the premises. What kind of surprising outcome might result? Is it fate or causality, and does it end up being good or bad for the protagonist?
